Default Glosso and temp questions

My first question is about my glosso. It arrived emersed and I let it grow and then trimmed and planted according to plantfinder tips. The thing is almost all of the runners are now on top of the gravel, but still growing horizontally, not vertical. Is it possible to get the runners to remain underground or should I just be happy that its growing horizontal?

Also what is the optimum temperature for a planted tank? Ive read a lot of conflicting stuff about this. I think ive read everywhere from 72 to 82???

the majority of my glooso grows on top of the substrate but horizontally sometimes though it grows under but i am really not sure if more light would help that or not once the glosso thickens you won't even be able to tell.

as for temperature mine are all ambient at 76 i don't even use water heaters so however cool my apartment is that's how cool my tanks are. but they only range from 76-78 and my fish and plants seem happy

I would be happy that it's growing horizontally. As it grows though, toss some substrate on top of it to cover up the vine area, and also a big wad on top of the extending portion. By doing that, burying it will encourage it to grow roots and hopefully pop the leaves only out of the soil. That's worked for me.
