Wink Can you pls tell me what type of freshwater plant is this?

I recently purchased a plant and put it inside my betta tank. The lady said it was a java fern but I think its not. Is it safe to put inside a betta splendens tank? Thanks.

I believe what you have there is African fern (aka Bolbitis heudelotii). It should be safe to put in there although you might do better with some Java moss.

Certainly not Java Fern. It looks more like a terrestrial fern to me. If it's Bolbitus it will be fine. If it's a terrestrial fern, it will begin to die from being under water too long.

Can you get a close up or a picture of it out of water?

Thanks for the answers. It is an african fern.

Is it safe to put in a betta tank? Because just now I found a tear in his fin. Can it be the cause the plant or not?

I don't see how the fern could be the cause of the tear in the fin. You should be able to treat that with MelaFix and have your fish right as rain in a few days.
