New to Planted Tanks - In the Planning Process Hi Everyone,
I'm new to planted tanks and am in the process of getting equipment together to set up a planted tank. I ended up getting a good deal on a 90 gallon reef ready tank and am trying to decide the best direction to take this tank. I don't think I want to use compressed air.
Equipment so far:
90 gallon reef ready tank and stand
Heaters
Sump
Return Pump 700gph
Equipment needed:
4x54 watt T5 light
Glass lids for aquarium
Substrate
200 micron filter soc
Fish Stocking:
5 discus
5 german rams
???
Plant Stocking:
???
I'm looking for recommendations on type of substrate to use and plants that can handle my lighting and tank temperature ~82F. I'm assuming that I will need low-medium light plants.
I'm also looking for suggestions on what to add to my sump. I was thinking about having water come in though a 200 micron filter sock then bioballs, carbon and return pump. I would also have the heaters in the sump.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
