Re: moving a 55gal tips and tricks??? If you have some muscle to help move it, drain all the water out to about 1", cover the tank with plastic wrap (to keep the plants moist) and move it set-up. That way all you have to do is refill.
HOWEVER, there's a good chance of breaking the glass if you have any slight problems. And a 55 has lots of length for remaining water to work up momentum as it sloshes back and forth during transit...so you'll have a mess on your hands.
So, I recommend emptying the entire thing. Put your plants in zip-lock bags, the substrate in a bucket and toss all the water. You fish will be happy in an ice-chest or several bags. |
