I say try it out! There are some Elatine species native to Japan that can grow in the aquarium.

Anything about new plants should go in this stickey. Art had a similar sticky up, but I could find no way to to move your posts to his stickey, so I created one of my own and removed his. His statement is below. If we get lots of talk about new plants in this stickey, maybe we can have a forum on new plants.

New plants in the hobby in the Netherlands/Belgium:

Bucephalandra Motleyana (how anyone will be able to pronounce this one, is beyond me ):

New sort of Monoselenium (cauliflower-like):

A very narrow leaved form of Microsorum pteropus (picture is a bit dark):

Other new plants here are the Ludwigia spec 'Cuba', Proserpinaca palustris, Monoselenium tenerum, Tonina fluviatilis. But I think these are already known here on the boards.

Pictures that were shown here are now on p. 3

The Microsorum v. 'narrow leaf' looks striking, and very grass-like. I wonder why it looks different from the narrow leaf version I've usually seen, yours looks more narrower. Maybe it M. v. 'narrower leaf'?

Bucephalandra looks interesting. Apparently it is an Aroid! Do you have any information on how it grows, propatates, etc. It looks like quite a small plant.

Rotala sp. "Rio"
Very tiny, seems like a great stem plant for nano tanks. Seems like it gets a slight red sheen on the top of the leaves.
Carlos will need to help me out with more information on this plant,

It seems like Rotala sp "Rio" is missing part of its name. I could be wrong but it is most likely "Rio something" Looks like a nifty little plant though

This one looks just like a plant that Tsunami posted about back in October:
