it looks like Rotala Goias growing straight up toward the light.
while those are nice close ups, they don't show the context
and scale with which they are growing, so it's hard to be certain.
Rotala 'mini' have those distinctive curled down leaves,
so they are much easier to identify.

It's not R. goias since I have that plant to compare. And the size of this plant is just about the same as 'mini', actually it really looks like 'mini' only with longer/narrow leaves(it's somehow curled as well).

hmm, maybe some type of hybrid off the rotala mini? did you get it from overseas? I know a lot of places in Thailand are notorious for creating new hybrids with out ever giving them names (or without making the names public), leaving the aquarists to guess and make up their own names for the plants.

I've noticed that some of my Rotala sp. 'Mini' has started to look like the type II.

Any thoughts on this? Maybe type I and type II are the same, with different conditions.

I have both plants growing in the same tank, next to each other, and they have slightly different leaves and colors. But I am not surprised that type I could grow like type II under certain conditions.

I am more curious about the "some of my Rotala sp. 'Mini' has started to .....", how about some pics?

I bought some of this a while back and it started to grow like "mini I". Yesterday a friend came over and said, his is growing a staying like "mini II". Thankfully, he brought me a couple of stems. I planted them into the same tank I planted the others. If it starts to grow like "mini I" then I'm gonna guess it's the same plant.
