It looks like it probably is. Can we get a sharp closeup pic?

Any background info on this one? You could always let some grow up out of the water and hope for the best...

Grows VEEEERRRRYYY slowly. Will stunt easily and then sends off plentiful sideshoots. Pointed leaves. Stays red rather easily.

Was thinking rotala macrandra super red - anyone have a good pic of the super red?

I cant wait to see what I can get it to do in my nano!

I stopped my rotala macandra narrow from reverting. It was actually by turning the lights DOWN, not Up. Go figure that one out.

correct or not, meh its a trade name for a Rotala macrandra variant.
super red sounds gimmicky but its all I have for now,
and thats just the name I got from the HK exporter.

I still think his is super red, just looking a bit different from my pic due to
scale of our pics (mines a closer shot?)
my pic is of three or so stems directly in front of each other
the internodes are a bit shorter on mine
maybe I'll hit skewlboy up for a stem of his super red to compare to mine.

can do, just lemme know when you want it. I agree it is very similar to the narrow leaf/magenta - I have a stem growing right next to it and the immature leaves look similar until the magenta leaf lengthens, also the more mature leaves on this var are more waxy and pointed w/ a feint yellow vein down the center.

Is this the same stuff as R. "butterfly?" Because butterfly stunts ridiculously easily too and grows insanely slowly for a Rotala variant.

nope, larger plant than R.butterfly.
you can actually see both of them in the pic below.
the R.butterfly is on the right side, R.macrandra 'super red' in the middle
same sp, different variant though.

in the lower part of the pic, you can see a crown of Rotala mexicana 'belem' peeking.
