Very nice! What's the background made out of? I love the reflection it casts on the surface along with the HC, makes it looks like it's reflecting a canopy of trees over a stream bank.
Mini pellia is not the same as regular pellia (Monosolenium tenerum), and although I rarely see it referred to it's latin name, that name might be RICCARDIA CHAMEDRYFOLIA, but I am not positive. Mini pellia is considerably smaller than regular pellia. there are some great photos of it here http://www.flowgrow.de/biete-wasserp...tat-t4614.html
OK, thanks for the correction. I'll let my supplier look into it...
I don't think I've ever seen minipellia live. Very nice, very dense and beautiful in the pics.
Very nice in your paludarium as well.
I have yet to make the small waterfall feature to mine. I guess that's what both HC and minipellia take to strive.
I've found it difficult to balance plants above and below the waterline in other tanks, the plants above have no problem out-competing everything else in the tank. it's hard to push more light underwater without burning the emmersed growth. maybe focused spots would help.
That's looking REALLY nice. very warm and organic.
here's another video of one of my favorite paludariums (not mine however) you'll notice he doesn't have much in the way of growth underwater either, even though there is plenty of light.
What a pretty tank in the link. Simple, lush, beautiful.
Yes, balance between above and below surface is a trick. That vid shows clearly how it goes: above the surface light burns the pic while below is darkish. And the water is only like 6 inches deep(?).
Just have to start looking for suitable spotlights. I know HQI would be the easiest, but I'm afraid they run too hot for my tank. Plants above the surface will burn.
