Exclamation Handout design/show tank

We must design a handout. We need a handout to give out at the GPASI show at the end of March, but we also need something to give to and help recruit potential new members. There are a number of things we can put on it:
1. Our name at the top, of course.
2. Must have a logo. Something to catch the eye and make people want to look at the rest.
3. Our Mission statement. I think this will give people a good idea what we are about.
4. Usual meeting times; i.e. first Sunday of the month at 5:30.
5. What we do at meetings. Talks, discussion, some meetings at members houses to view their tanks, plant auction, etc.
6. Web site URL, once we have one.

Does anyone else have anything to add?

I agree with your list, Bill. What's the next step?

For the next step I will bring a printout of the proposed handout design to our next meeting for members to look over.

The hand out sounds good. Also, I'm not sure if we are still going to do a show tank for the GPASI show but I e-mailed Mike Solito to get a price for a table.

A PAPAS show tank or an entry in the Tank Beautiful catagory would be nice to attract attention. But, even if we don't have a tank there will be a spot to place our handouts. While a lot of the people there are from GPASI there will be many from the area who aren't GPASI members and this is our chance to reach them.
Also if PAPAS members donate stuff for the auction we should include a handout with the bag to help get the word out. I plan on making a 1/2 page handout so that it can fit in a standard size bag.

Later,
Bill

Great idea for the handout, Bill.
When is the show/auction?
I think the show tank is worth pursuing but it's going to be a lot of work.
We should put together a planning group to get things started. I'll volunteer, Bill, if you need me.

Bob. I contacted Mike Solito and Steve Okabayashi about putting up a show tank at the GPASI show. Mike said "Will they be selling anything or just a display of planted tanks?? If they are members of GPASI then they can put up one table for free as long as they sponsor a class for the show." Which we did. I told them that we may be setting up between 1 and 3 tanks. I figured that we may also want to set up an emerged growth tank to show the public some of the different features of the club. Your thoughts?

I think I just heard a train go by. Count me in, Bill. It looks like Tim is already on the ball. Anyone else like to chip in?
