Hi Joe!! Welcome to the Pittsburgh Plant Club. This club is for anyone at any level. If you have a passion for aquatic plants then skill and tank space will not be an issue. We all just like to talk plants. If it is knowledge that you crave then you have come to the right club. We have some top notch plant geeks, and some beginners as well. We have had only one meeting and it was a lot of fun! We talked plants, ate hamburgers, talked plants, ate brownies, talked plants, looked at Bob's show piece, and talked more plants. Nothing formal, just a plant geek get together. Hope you decide to join!

Thanks,
Tim

If you like plants and want to learn more about them, this is the place to be.
If you are short on tank space, like me, many of the aquatic plants are amphibious and can be grown in a pot outside or in a sunny window.

Later,
Bill

Hey Joe,

Let me disabuse you of the flawed notion that we plant people are "plant geeks". In fact, we are sophisticated, cool, suave, smart, erudite "plant afficionados"... and well dressed, too.

It's those non plant people that are the geeks.

Plant savy, or lack thereof, is not an issue, as witnessed by the fact that we let Tim in. (humor him).

We're in the process of setting up our next meeting. As soon as Tim and Cavan give us their evenings-off schedule we'll go from there.

By the way, that sword plant will eventually become too big for everyone's tank. You can control its size somewhat by uprooting it, severely cutting back the roots and removing the overgrown leaves. Essentially, you're starting over with a new, smaller plant.

Of course, you can expect to have to repeat the process regularly. Do it now before the root system takes over your entire substrate.

Hope to see you at the meeting, whenever it is.

Let's talk, all,
Bob

Hey Joe,

As long as you're willing to take the Oath of Loyalty, you're more than welcome to join.

We basically just get together to swap plants, talk plants, look at plants, and so on. There hasn't been anything formal yet, but I guess we may eventually do presentations and so on.

Welcome aboard!
