Autodosing PPS Pro

I made a pair of DIY autodosers for my fertilizers.

With these DIY dosers I'm at the mercy of how many ml of dosage is done based on the timer, which the smallest increment I found was 1 min. I found with my setup that I dose 100ml in a cycle.

So, I created a little spreadsheet to correct the proportions of the PPS Pro solution accordingly. I thought this might come in handy for some others.

I also added the ability to make adjustments to each of the nutrients in case someone wanted to do so. The spreadsheet will take inputs for dose size, tank size, and how much you want to mix (I mix 3L at a time) and create the necessary calculatin of each nutrient.

Thoughts?

so the pump sits inside the containers? Is there any variability with the amount dosed in a minute based on the amount in the containers? If not it's better than the Tom's aqualifter I've been using.

If there is a difference it seems to be minute. Several of our members are now employing this method of autodosing. :) The main concerns are to make sure that the lids don't allow for much evaporation and to not move it. The dosing is based on the head height / pump placement so you need to find it spot where it will live and not move it around in the stand. If you do move it you'll want to recalibrate it.

for this method you can use the smallest pump you can find and a digital timer that can be set up to the minute. You won't be able to dose with these types of pumps for only 1 ml......you can set it to pump to a small amount by placing it on the floor.

Once this is set up, you set find out how much the system pumps in one minute and then dilute your ferts accordingly. For example, if you normally dose 5ml per day and the dosing system pumps 50 ml in one minute, add 100ml of your ferts to 900 ml of water.......
hope that helps.

hate to dig up an old thread, but how's the auto doser working?

Also, would it be beneficial to add an airline control valve and a T with tubing going back to the bucket to help regulate the output?

I envision something like a fuel injector setup on a car where the regulator would go after the T so that any extra pressure caused by the regulator would allow the fluid to flow back to the bucket. I'm probably just over complicating things.

Your Excel sheet works great BTW.
