Default getting buildup in my TE mix

Is this normal, I got some buildup in my TE mix. I used RO water to make the solution. Any concerns with this gunk at the bottom of the bottle? I used CSM+B btw.

Did this occur while you where mixing it or did it occur later? If it occurred later - this could be mold forming.

It was after the mixture was about 3-4 days old. If this is mold, what's the fix?

Hello,

I experienced the same problem the first time I made a stock solution of CSM+B. To resolve this, I did two things. First, I used hot water (just shy of boiling) for mixing the solution. Next, I added a few drops of Malachite Green to the solution. The stock I use is relatively concentrated, so I only get a fraction of a drop of the Malachite Green each time I dose. Anyway, since making these two changes I have never again experienced the problem of buildup in my TE mixes. I hope this helps.

Thanks guys. I'll try the Malachite Green in my solution next time. Storing it in the fridge is kind of inconvenient... and dangerous LOL.

Storing in the fridge is inconvenient for me as well, but it is the only way I have found to keep mold from forming in a short period of time. I have even tried adding several drops of anti-fungal medication to the solution, but whatever that mold is, it doesn't mind the meds one bit! What I do now is store most of the TE mix in the fridge, but keep about 5 days worth in a small bottle closer to the tanks. Any more than a weeks worth will grow mold for me every time at room temps.

You can always buy a digital scale (look for one in Ebay, cost you about 14 bucks) and add the ferts (1st dissolve in water)
