Anything wrong with using regular kitchen scales used for measuring flour/sugar etc?

are you referring to the scales that are plunger types with the rotating arrow? heh... i'm not the greatest at describing things :P

those types are not very accurate, especially when going for 0.1g's

however... if you're referring for the digital scales for home kitchens, that's what i use, it's accurate to 0.1g and is perfectly fine for PPS-Pro.

Wish I'd have seen this thread before I bought my scale earlier this week . I got a 1000 gram, but only 0.1 accuracy. Do you think this is fine? It was only $12 shipped. Also it says "One touch calibration-on key". I didn't know about calibration weights or anything, so what does this mean? Am I going to have to buy weights?

If I were to measure my chemicals in a pot first, I take it I can minus the weight of the pot before hand? This is with the digital ones I'm asking about

Yes, provided your scale has the "tare" function and the total weight will be under the scale's maximum.

0.1 accuracy is fine. PPS has a built in fudge factor, at least that's what i gathered from edward's replies
