Hi BigFoot

Here is a new version of the PPS.analysis.20050412.xls for download. Also, I transferred data from your old sheet to the new sheet. You can download it as an attachment in this post and continue using it.

You need to use standard hardness measurement in degrees for the calculations. It is easy if you use the Hagen GH & KH test kit.
GH 1 drop = 1 degree
KH 1 drop = 0.5 degree

To start dosing I recommend daily:
4 ml SS
8 ml PF
1 ml Mg
2 ml TE

Try for one week and post your results.

Thank you
Edward

Here we go Edward. The rotala has pick up some red this week and the sunset hygro has lost some. The vals are still showing some glassyness on new leaves and seems to have slowed down growing. Thanks BigFoot

Hi BigFoot

You are doing well. The PO4 is already there so we need to move the SS : PF ratio little away from the PO4 while keeping the total NO3 and K dose constant. See 4 + 8 = 12 and 2 + 10 = 12. Change your dose to 2ml SS and 10ml PF.
The Mg is not there yet, therefore you need to increase the dose to 2ml. Give it another week, we are getting there.
Can you clarify your tap Ca measurement?

Thank you for sharing
Edward

The tap water is 60 using the test to the line. Which Discus clarified last night for me. He said the number of drops goes in the ca column and ca2 is my test results. Just so i can understand what is going on. The dose that we are getting ready to do. Wont that make no3 go up with it being at 15 ppm is that what i want and why? My guess is to get the po4 to go down is that correct? I am also wondering about Te because the hygro lost the red that i like so much. Could that be too low? I will dose what you recommend i just want to learn and understand fully if that is possible. Thanks BigFoot

Hi BigFoot

How many drops and in what amount (ml) of water the Ca test?

The NO3 dose won’t change, only the PO4 will.
SS + PF = 12ml
The SS has PO4 which we lowered to half.
Also, I expect the NO3 to stop climbing when more Mg is introduced.
Red plants? TE don’t make plants red.
