I help a friend in a petstore in granby and he order his plant from Singapore. They told us the best way to ship plant is to suck all the air out of the bag (no water added so not as heavy, cheaper to ship) so there is no air to dry the plant out. The plant they ship us take about 3 to 7 days to arrive and they are always in perfect shape.

Please tell me how an American can ship plants or plant trimmings to a friend in Canada.

I would like to do this legally but just do not know where to start.

Also a suggestion, if a fellow hobbyist works or lives nearby a vets office they are usually more than willing to give away their styrofoam boxes that they receive their shipments in. These are very sturdy and sometimes can be small enough to ship one or two large ziplock bags in. With the plants inside and a smidge of water comes less or around 1 lb. Recycle, make plants happy, make friend happy. I hope this suggestion is helpful to someone.

Now, How do I ship from New York State to my friend in Canada? (please)
