If you are a newbie and you are looking for your first bunch of plants it is very time consuming to look up all these plants' names. I think you guys would sell more if you attached a quick pic of the actual plant.

You guys do have awesome prices though and I am sure that quality is top notch.

Not to be rude or harsh...
but that is just being lazy on you're part..

I think it is up to you, the buyer/consumer to do thier own homework, knowing which plant is which and what you want, posting pictures with every sale takes alot of extra time, time I usially do not have, or care to spend.

There are alot of nice pages showing plant picture's along with NFO and care..

APC plant finder is a good one,
http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/f...nder/index.php

greenchapter.com
http://www.greenchapter.com/

pighead's....lol funny name
http://www.toninastyle.com/photo_gallery.htm

lucidcentral.com
http://www.lucidcentral.com/keys/app...taxa_list.html
and several more.

Spend some coffee time or Tea time browsing, looking at plants you like, that will thrive with you're particular water parameters' etc and stuff

any plant I purchase/trade for, I "usually" have already heard of it, researched it, and know what it is.

Nothing more depressing to see these poor guys that see, for instance a Tonina tank, and goo woooeee, I want some of those, they buy them, get them home and two weeks later they look close to death...lol

Do you're own homework....

Hi Jersey! *waves*

I definitely understand your frustration. I was there once and never left in fact. Wö£fëñxXx provided some excellent resources for you to browse. It may be overwhelming at first but pretty soon you will be able to rattle off those latin names as if they were your own name. Then you can whip them out at parties and impress your friends. You'll be the coolest one there.

But here at Aquatic Plant Central, the moderators are making this process even easier by automatically linking every instance of a plant name to the corresponding Plant Finder entry. This makes it incredibly easy for you and me to quickly read up on on an unfamiliar plant. Here is an example of automatic linking. I am going to write Glossostigma elatinoides and you should see it automatically linked to the Plant Finder entry. Pretty cool huh?

Of course, this means that people should start writing the correct names of plants. Otherwise, the computer won't recognize the mispellings and thus won't link you. It is unfortunate that a lot of people short hand and don't write out the full name; or they use some common name <-- a very bad habit. It is ok to short hand and use common names IF AND ONLY IF you have written the full latin name somewhere in your post first. Yes it takes a little more time but it benefits EVERYONE.

APC is the best. It is my master. There are no other forums before you.

Some people just don't have the time to link to everypics, It can be time consuming. Not only so, but some image copyrights and credit...etc. And not everyone has a Digicam. For example....me.

I also said that if you attached a pic of the plant you would sell more. It's sort of like bidding on ebay, if there are no pics most people will not bid on it. It's all a psychological thing that you can notice for yourself by checking out Aquabid.com. Most plant auctions with great pics sell for more money.

I really like the idea of how plant names are automatically linked to a picture. I have yet to see that except the post above -- I wish people would spell the names correctly though.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm still learning so any info is beneficial.

I really think that a photo does help you sell something faster, if you have the means to do so.
It's not just showing you what the species of plant looks like, but it's showing the potential buyer what sort of condition the plants you're selling are in.

That said, if there is no photo, we have our very own plant finder right here, and chances are the plant for sale is going to be in there.

i think a photo is good as long since it helps the buyer see what they're actaully getting before they buy it (condition of plant, right species of plant!, etc.)

of course if you start posting pics you just find online..that'd be bad...
