Default WTB Isoetes sp.

Besides AZ-Garden, does anyone know of a source for this plant? It also goes by the name of octopus plant and quillwort.

Thanks!

Aquarium Center in MD usually has this plant. That's where I got mine from, they have an online store too.

Be careful, Octopus plant is also the trade name for Zephyranthes candida (not sure on spelling) which is more of a marginal/ bog plant. it would suck to order a whole bunch and end up with this.

How many are you looking for? I can probably get more of them from my LFS.
Heres mine on the left background

It looks sorta like hairgrass from my pic, but the bottom roots looks like a bunch of mini plant bulbs all attached together.

Here the call Zephyranthes candida 'dwarf crinium', because it has a bulb. The octopus plant around here is an Isoetes, which is what Aquarium Center has. Don't you just love confounded names.

Thanks for the heads up Sean Their prices are reasonable..just need to see what shipping will Run. I think I will wait for nicer weather though LOL. Looks ugly on the east coast.

Thanks for the offer ming, but Aquarium center should make due unless they overcharge on shipping LOL

I do go there on occassion so if they try to overcharge you let me know and I can get them for you myself. Of course the 'finders fee' is payable in the currency of some rare plant.

I have the isoetes from AC. It's a great grassy plant...that doesn't send runners As far as weather is concerned I've noticed that shipping plants in the winter is just fine. They seem to tolerate extreme cold much better than extreme heat.
