yup some guy from germany sells them for an arm and a leg. overpriced even for zebras lol

Someone got a zebra pleco from petsmart that was labeled "assorted pleco" for $5 lol!

Heck, I use to see them all the time at my lfs for like $25. I thought they were overpriced, then I saw that they go for a lot more. I wish I could get one.

petsmart sells emperor as zebra plecos. I saw some this weekend that they were calling "zebra" and they are not L-46's.

unfortunately, "zebra" is a common name for many types of fish referring to their color patterns.... Hypancistrus zebra just happens to have a poorly chosen name that causes confusion in pet stores.

My lfs hasn't sold zebras in a long time. The lfs I go to kinda specializes in plecos. I can't remember when they stopped selling them, but it was probably a few years ago. I imagine that a local breeder was bringin them by, and now they are probably selling them online for a lot more money than they got at the lfs.

I wanted a few of these, then i found out the cost. Quickly my interest deminished and i figured i'd just look at other peoples lol
