Check out www.azgardens.com They sell them for $0.79 a piece. I think you'll be hard pressed to find anyone who has any for trade.

I don't believe they carry nerite shells (I'm assuming you want them for breeding shellies) but the carry everything you will need here and they are cheaper.

Default nerite snails

Thanks all for the replies. What I wanted the Nerite snails for was to see if they would eat the alge off the glass in my aquariums(rumor has it). BUT, dumb me, I just found out all I have to do is walk down to the salt marsh here and collect all I want of Olive Nerites. Wonderful what you can find out by looking up a picture on the web...Thanks all, Jim

Take some of the water with you and a hydrometer so you can setup the tank for them accordingly. They need to be slowly acclimated to freshwater.

I hadn't noticed at first that you were in Georgia.

Jim,

Picking up on an old thread, but I was curious about the nerites in Savannah. I live down the road in Brunswick, GA and would like to go nerite hunting here. Were you able to find nerites in the wild in Savannah? Do you have pictures of those that you found? Were you able to acclimate them to fresh water aquaria?

What type of marsh did you find them in? The marshes here in Brunswick would be similar, but wondering if you found them at the waters edge, like in a creek or where they in a higher marsh area away from the water? Where they on the marsh grass itself or in/on the mud? We have salt marshes here, or you can go up in the area of the Altamaha river and find brackish marshes. Please advise as to where you think I should look.

Thanks,
Tracy
