Default New York/Long Island Tropical Fish Distributor Group Order

I'm wondering if anyone on Long Island would want to do a group order from Tropical Fish Direct and help share the overnight shipping cost. (TFDfish.com) I will be placing an order this Friday since they currently have 2" discus for sale at $6.00 each and I want to buy a group of 8 of them, along with three other groups of fish.

I spoke with a Pete, and he said the ph is 7.5. Acclimation time to our 6.5+/- water is about two hours or so. I ordered fish from them one time before, and the overnight shipping for one box was $44.00. Each box can hold about 7 bags of fish.

Rules:
-I require 1/2 the money up front for your order, prior to me placing the order. Money sent as gift or add 5.5% if sending the money by paypal.
-I require your phone number or direct e-mail
-You will be notified after I place the order.
-You will be notified when the order arrives at my house.
-You will pick up the order within 3 hours of it arriving.
-I am not liable for any DOA.
-I do not have storage space for multiple bags of fish. I do have heatpacks to keep your fish comfortable while they wait for you.
-If you don't pick up the fish the day they come in, I'll have to start the acclimation process for them to survive the night. $15.00 charge per bag of fish to acclimate them in one of my spare tanks.

-I know I'm being anal with the rules but eh, that's just me!
-Message me with your phone number and I'll give you a call to discuss what you want to buy.
-Price lists/specials are available online at their website!
-I will not profit from this, if anything though I'll be able to save a few dollars on shipping by spreading the cost to others.

Gordon,

In case you don't know or you don't do the group order, there's a fish store in Coram called 'Aqua Hut' I haven't been there in a while, but they usually have a large selection of Discus dirt cheap. Again haven't been there in a while, but thought I'd mention it.

houseofcards, the discus are $6.00 each as long as I buy six of them. Lol price is too good to be beat. Never heard of aquahut, though I do live in Huntington. Coram would be a hike for me.

Neilshieh, I can't ship to you I'm sorry. You could order from them directly if you wanted though, maybe setup a group order to California. I'm just offering to people in New York that can pickup from me.

Doesn't make sense if I'm ordering a hundred dollars of fish, for them to die in transit. Overnight shipping is only $40.00. Not a bad price to pay when the fish are so cheap.

i guess... i assumed you were only going to buy like 10... would you still use the overnight shipping if no one group buys with you?

Of course I'm doing overnight shipping. Cost per discus is still $10.00 cheaper then in the stores.

Kinda makes me wish I were closer to NY... I've been meaning to try and get together a group order from them for ages now. Oh well. Best of luck with the discus and the order, Gordon.

Thanks, but when I called they were out of discus. I'm going to try calling next week. They get their orders in on Monday. Hopefully they get some german blues in also.

Asuka, you know I live only two hours away? What were you looking to get? I can meet you halfway on the cross island parkway if you want. Total travel time would be an hour and ten minutes on your end then.
