APC members,

With the change of rules at TPT forum it seems we have an increase in for sale threads here. While APC welcomes sales and trading among hobbyist we do want to remind the members of a few things.

1. You need to be an active member to sell items.

• What’s an active member, basically you don’t just show up to sell stuff, you answer other members questions, and help out the community by ways other than selling.
  • If you look at your recent post and most or all of them are for sale, the staff doesn’t consider you an active member.

• APC won’t ask for your money in order to sell items, we do ask that you participate in other areas of the forum however.

2. We don’t allow the reselling of products or the selling of collected products.

• You can’t go out and collect manzinita and unload it here, same for rocks, tweezers, scissors,ect.

• Selling of osmocote tabs is considered reselling

• A large amount of Shrimp products, fertilizers ect.

• If you have some extra wood, ferts, root tabs, shrimp products that is fine, but APC will not be your personal store front. Extras of something is not a problem

• If you are looking to resell products sponsorships are available.

There have been some questionable sale threads recently, if your post was deleted this is most likely why. If you aren't sure or have questions please ask.

Hi Bigstick120,

Thank you for the reminder. I don't have a problem with individuals that do an occasional FS post. I do have problems with individuals that continuously (and repetitively) post items FS and don't contribute to the overall knowledge base of the forum or help the newer members that are trying to learn the techniques of this hobby. If all I wanted to see was FS posts I would be on Aquabid.

What about if I have products like 25 co2 Diffusers to throw away, does it considered reselling?

Unless they are used what would someone be doing with 25 diffusers unless they had planned on reselling them?

I would suggest aquabid for that.

If you grow it or breed it is fine.

If you have a FEW pieces of extra driftwood that is fine.

If you had 2-3 extra diffusers that you over bought or didnt use in a project that isnt a problem.

How about people like me that used to participate but left the hobby awhile ago and now just want to get rid of equipment and other aquarium related stuff? Can I still do that, open a 'for sale' thread ?
