Default Seeking Nerites and FW Clams

Anyone have any Nerites or Freshwater Clams.
It's like trying to find water in the sahara these items lately. I would order the clams from AZgardens but I hear shady things.

Tom has some Nerites for sale, see:http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/f...ead.php?t=9269. Aquabid.com usually has freshwater clams.

Forget the clams. Buy the nerites only. I've ordered from AZgardens before, no problems. If they die upon arrival then let them know and I'm sure you two can work something out.

The easiest way to find out if your snail is dead or not is to smell it. If it is alive then it will have no odor. If it smells rotten, then yeah it's dead. TRUST ME, dead snails smell really really really really bad. NO REALLY! THEY REALLY DO!

OH MAN, did I tell you about how badly dead nerite snails smell? Oh, and they lay a lot of eggs. The eggs don't smell though.

No! you need brackish water. IME. I have talk to Wilma Dunkan who sells Olive Nerite & she mentioned that you can breed this is freshwater but you have to put it in species only tank, tried puting it in my shrimp only tank but until now no babies. Like I said this is just my OPINION you can try it in species only with at lease 10g & TEN snails.

i've been told it's very easy to breed them if you even setup a brackish tank around 2 to 5 gallons, but i've never thought to try it. i heard they will in a nertie species tank as well, but it has to have hard water. again, i have no personal experience. i also read they are larval at an early stage and need infusoria which is easy to make.
