I've got a 18 watt T8 fixture that came with my tank laying around since I replaced it with a T5 fixture. I want to put it to use so I've been looking for a T6 plant bulb to put in it I found the Spot Ethical Pet Products Flora Plus T6 tube at a local fish store and I'm thinking about getting it.

Does anyone have any expirience with this bulb? Is it any good?

You have to have a T6 fixture if you want to get a T6 bulb. It won't work in a T8 fixture.

I thought that T12s T8s and T6s all used the same type of ballast just different end caps.

T8s and T6s use the same endcaps and are completely interchangeable. I use 2x15 watt 7100k T6 bulbs on my 15 gallon, and I'm pretty happy with them, they do seem a bit brighter than the T8s they replaced.
