Default Purigen and Green Water

Hi,

Will purigen clear green water. I currently have green water in my 72g planted tank. If yes, is the 100ml pouch enough and should I rinse it each day. I know it can be recharged with bleach, but would rinsing be beneficial when clearing green water. Thanks in advance for your response.

Purigen is ideal for scavenging the nitrogenous waste in the aquarium feeding the algae. I also suggest using our Phosguard to control phosphate (another nutrient). Limiting the amount of light your aquarium receives will also help.

Thanks! I guess that's a yes, can you tell me if 100ml pouch is enough for a 72g and should I rinse the pouch daily. I see in your description for "Clarity" it directly says that it clears blooms. What's the difference, it sounds like the purigen should work too.

Purigen is an adsorptive media meaning is "grabs" waste. It won't directly impact green water but it will remove the waste contributing to the green water. Clarity is a flocculating agent that will "clump" particles, etc., together making it more easily removed by your mechanical filter. I suggest using both products as Clarity may impact it now and Purigen will help to further prevent it.
