Default Acid Buffer

Part I
A friend adds Acid Buffer to his home made trace mix to stop the mould growth. I bought some to do the same thing to my Flourish which gets worse than pea soup, even in the refrigerator. This is a problem when adding it to a small tank because it can cause significant cloudiness.

Do you think this will work?

Part II
A friend has very hard water and has asked me several times how to lower his KH without using RO water. I didn't know of any way except to turn off the CO2 for a day and let the hard water loving plants absorbe the bicarb through biogenic decalcification. The label of Acid Buffer says it wil convert KH to CO2.

Will this work for him to lower his KH? I am assuming so.

Thanks for supporting the DFW Club with your products,
And thanks for your response,
Ben

Hello Ben. Regarding question 1, it is possible to add Acid Buffer to that product to prevent mold growth. However mold should not grow on that product to the extent of it looking like "pea soup". The pH of that product should already be adjusted to an acidic level. How long have you had the product or was anything added to the bottle? Regarding question 2, Acid Buffer is ideal for this as it will dissolve KH.
