Yellowing leaves can be the sign of a variety of deficiencies. If it is only the new leaves that are yellowed, this is usually an indication that iron is lacking. In older leaves, it can indicate a nitrogen or a potassium deficiency. With a potassium deficiency, small pin holes often accompany the yellowing. Alternately, if phosphates are too low, this can limit the uptake of nitrogen even if there is plenty of ammonium or nitrates. As plant growth increases, you may need to increase the doses of some of the supplements.
