Purigen will get to a point that regeneration will not bring back the full color. That typically occurs around 8 regeneration's.

Typically Purigen does not have any odor to it after regeneration especially a "fishy" smell. You may want to consider regenerating with Prime to ensure any "amine" complexes are not formed.

Can I still use that bag of Purigen given I soak it in Prime or my bag is foul?

You can still use The Bag after soaking in Prime.

Question Re: Purigen!

Seachem: I was planning on having a back-up purigan filter bag on standby. That way when I am waiting for one to regenerate, I can place the other one in it's place and vica versa. This naturally raises the question of storing the bags that are on stand by. Will leaving the bag in a plastic or glass container with dechlorinated water between regenerations reduce the effectiveness of the purigan or make it unuseable over time?? I would think not, but just need to double check. And should the water holding the backup purigen be periodically replaced with clean dechlorinated water?? Thanks.

Purigen can be stored in either a plastic or glass container with some water. Storing Purigen after regeneration in de-chlorinated water is fine.

Thanks for responding Seachem

That is what I thought, but just wanted to be sure before purchasing additional bags of purigen.

You just answered my question. I've got some Purigen and 2 The Bags coming this week. Wanted to keep 2, one in filter and one ready to go!

Thanks,
Brian
