Default Flourish Iron

Quick question about a recent batch of Flourish Iron that I obtained. I have used Iron for a long time, but everytime that I add some from this recent batch the water clouds up for a couple of hours. This has never happened to me in the past, just wondering what's going on.

If I add it slowly, the Iron drops to the bottom and stays in a dense cloud for a while before spreading throughout the tank. If I add it quickly it clouds the entire tank immediately. Thanks for the help.

Are you dosing with anything else? If so what and when?

The Flourish Iron is forming a precipitate (ie. white cloud) with a compound such the phosphates. Have you added a UV sterilizer lately or do you dose PO4?

I do have an UV sterilizer inline with the canister filter, but it hasn't been used in months.

I dose the EI method, so I do dose phosphates.

The others have pretty much answered your question. Do not dose Flourish Iron and any phosphates on the same day because both can form a precipitate. You may need to cut back on the iron or phosphate dosing. Make sure the phosphates are being used quickly enough by the plants to avoid the precipitation.

I to have noticed this problem. I have a bottle of older iron and a bottle of newer iron. The older one has darker liquid in it compared to the newer lighter colored liquid. I think they smell different to. The newer one clouds the heck out the my tanks where the older one doesn't cloud at all.
I also dose EI.

We have not changed Flourish Iron nor the concentration. Over time the color of the product can darken that is not an issue.

.........but your dosing chart has some days where it instructs you to dose phosphate and iron.
