Default flourite black

is it okay to rinse the substrate with tap water?

can i let the substrate dry in my tank, or can i fill the tank up ith water just above the substrate? i want to put driftwood in the tank and try to hardscape the tank and wait a coupple days, look at it, to see if i like it or not. just curious if the substrate will go bad.

Yes; it is okay to rinse the substrate with tap water. Also, the way you described setting up your tank sounds great; the substrate will not go bad. We really think that you will enjoy the Flourite Black
