Why does Flourish Excel eradicate BBA? - Seachem

What causes Flourish Excel to reduce or eradicate black brush algae (BBA) and why does this work so well, please explain. Please note that my question is about what and why.

It just so happens that the active ingredient, which unfortunately we cannot disclose, in Flourish Excel has that effect on some species of algae. However, it does not occur in every situation, so we do not market, sell, or recommend it for that reason.
