Default Nitrate availability with using Prime

Hey there.

Firstly I want to congratulate you guys on an excelent range of products. I only recently started using some of the products and the results are awesome!

I would like to know, you state that Prime detoxifies nitrate. Does this in any way affect the ability for plant to take the nitrate up?

I dose my KNO3 and other macro's on the day of my water change and then flourish comprehensive 2 days later.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the post and for your positive feedback on our products!

Prime does not "remove" nitrates from the water column, it simply binds with them to make them less toxic and in reality, we don't worry too much about nitrates in an aquarium, more so, ammonia and nitrite. The nitrates will still be available for the plants to uptake and utilize for growth.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks Mr Seachem.

Just started a new tank and its fully planted but not fully stocked yet. So at this stage I rely on my dosing.

And if my calculations are correct I might use this 500ml bottle for over 3 years!
Compared to the previous product that lasted 3 months.

You will probably find, after looking at more and more of our products, that one of our primary focuses is to develop products that are more concentrated than many others. While the sticker price on a Seachem product may be higher than the same size product from a competitor, ours end up being more economical because they will treat more water. Take Prime for an example, it is 5X more concentrated than the nearest competitor! Thats a big difference when you figure out how much it cost to treat a gallon of water with each product.
