Default Purigen, matrix

I'm thinking of placing a order for both.
Both will be use in my heavy load plant tank.
Will the purigen, matrix remove my npk, csm+B?

Thanks for the post! Neither of those filter media's will remove your plant fertilizers. The Purigen is an organic scavenging resin, meaning that it only removes nitrogenous organic waste, while leaving all other elements behind. It is sometimes called a "protein skimmer in a bag", as a result of the amount of organics it removes from the tank.

The Matrix is what I like to call a "bacteria hotel", because it houses the beneficial bacteria needed for consumption of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate.

I hope this helps!

Thank for all the answer now im back with one more question.

Im using Black Water extact in my tank, will the tin stain the purigen and make it change brown?

If so how will you know if the purigen is use up or not?

Purigen will remove the peat extract (i.e.tannic acid and humic acid) from the Blackwater Extract,
although it will not remove trace elements from the product. If you are looking to keep the water dark then our Renew will work well. Renew will not aggressively remove tannins and humic acid. It will remove organics, but leave the color bodies present.

It will work well because of its pore size and structure for your purposes. Renew should be replaced about every 30 days, since you are using it to remove some organics. You can read about it here:

I'm not from seachem but I've that smell after recharging purigen as well. A little bit 'fishy' I would say but rotten eggs is more like my girlfriend would describe it. I always considered this normal...

Hey guys, Yo-han is correct, it is not unusual for there to be a fishy smell ( of course others may describe it differently). Rinsing well and using Prime to remove any residual bleach makes the produce safe to put back into use.
