This isnt on option on your poll but this is what worked for me

Do a large water change and as you syphon the water out wipe the glass with the end of the syphon right by the sponge, wipe only the lower half of the tank not touching the upper half where the algae is on the glass. When you have the glass clean and about 50% of the water changed, wipe the upper half that is out of the water with a paper towel. Repeat for a few weeks until its gone. The idea is to not let the algae free floating in the water and I have gotten rid of it in about a month or so doing this method ever week in a 55 gallon tank
