Bleach has a very high pH and Prime does not impact pH. Prime will impact the chlorine or chlorine derivatives formed from the bleach. When you add Purigen back to the tank, soaking it in a buffered solution ensures that pH will not be effected.
Since the systems, are small you can use 1/4 cup and that will be plenty to filter your tank. |
