Could you elaborate more on the compounds it removes? For example, Seachem says (about Purigen) "that removes soluble and insoluble impurities from water" and "controls ammonia, nitrites and nitrates by removing nitrogenous organic waste that would otherwise release these harmful compounds." What exact soluble and insoluble impurities and what exactly is nitrogenous organic waste?

My obvious question is, aside from doing what sounds like activated carbon can do, when and why would I want to use Purigen? Vague product descriptions are falling on deaf ears here.
