If you upload your photo to the gallery, you can upload up to 100kb size file. When you save you photo, make sure you lower the compression with you photo editing software (Photoshop, Gimp (free), etc) saving at 50-75% is usually sufficient for a photo of 400x800 pixels.
Also, you can show a photo here that is stored on another site. Right click on your photo somewhere else, select properties and highlight/copy the "location" url. The use img tags here to make the photo automatically appear. Doing this with your photo on the UK board gives its url as

in the reply to/post new section.
