Default Noisy Red Sea reactor

I have had the Red Sea "500" reactor (the one that comes with the Pro kit) running in a 50 gallon tank for about a month. CO2 levels are OK, but I have a lot of algae and I want to step things up a little. When I open the needle valve a little more, the reactor hisses and spits every fifteen seconds, and shoots out small bubbles. It also torques itself over about 45 degrees during the course of a day, which seems to throw off the vortex inside. Running like this, I am up to 20 ppm, but the sound is driving me crazy. I can put it up against a rock to stop it tilting, but can anything be done about the noise?
