I knew it, remember us sitting watching these little guys at HAW? Glad I pegged it right, was dying to bring some home until I saw one open its mouth. So cool, but most gobies are predators - you have to wait and watch them open their mouths to be sure.

Predator gobies have forward facing mouths that open wide, surprisingly wide, almost like a killie's mouth.

Algae eaters have a mouth like an Oto, downward facing round shaped mouth.
