Ick is not likely to go away on its own. I had ick twice in my tanks and was able to treat it without damageing the plants. Good medications to try would be Copper Safe or Maracide (both from Mardel). I also like Ick Attack from Kordon, but I feel that this is not a very potent medication. It worked for me once but the second time it actually did not.

I would start with Ick Attack, it is safe for plants and for invertebrates. If it does not work tou may want to switch to CopperSafe (full dose) plus Maracide (1/2 dose).
