Default RCS Acclimating

Do RCS need Drip Acclimating Or can you just float the bag for 30 mins to equalize temp? I am worried due to the fact that they are coming from a total different part of the country and i would hate to just "float and dump" and have them die due to drastic water differences. Any Suggestions??

Listen to your gut telling you to drip em'. With RCS being pretty hardy, you could probably speed up the drip.

Good luck

I'm new to keeping shrimp and I didn't do a slow drip acclimation. I floated the bags for about 20-30 mins with the bags open and scooped in tank water every 5 minutes. Then scooped them out with a net. They all survived and have bred, no issues.

However, mine were tank bred in a local shop and the 2nd batch was from a local swap meet. I'm sure if yours are shipped they will be a bit more stressed than mine.

I don't have much of a water care regimen, as I go with a really low tech set up but they seem to be thriving which is a testament to their toughness.

Hope that helps.
