Default Snail: Pleurocera

Okay, so I got these Pleurocera sp. snails from Living Aquatic (I actually won an auction) and now I'm trying to find info. on them. I've never had this much trouble finding information on a snail. It is almost like these guys went underground..... get it.... went underground..... ugh....

okay, but seriously, I've found very little when I searched Yahoo! So can anyone point me in the right direction? You ever keep these little guys? They're really nice, active, cute.... but I want to know more.

Thanks,
Aaron

Sometimes Google is useful:
Wealth of Scientific crappiccino: http://www.natureserve.org/explorer/...urocera+acuta+

But in general, you are right.
Other than that, the info I got is mostly invasive species reports and
the search engine thinking I was searching for rams horn.

Oh damn.... I figured that whatever I found on Yahoo! would be the same as Google.... won't make that mistake again. But thanks for the info. and advice. So they come up under Rams-horns? Really? Would never have thought that... ever. They're more MTS-like; at least the species that I have is. Anyway, lemme take a closer gander at that link and get back.

TY!

Interesting, this is probably an indigenous species to the eastern USA and some of Canada according to the map on the link you provided. Very interesting. Methinks these are wild harvested and resold that way. I'd really like to know about their breeding and also how thay should be kept.

At the moment they're in a tank with approx. ph7 at around 74f, but I'm not at all sure that this is ideal for them given how far north this species might inhabit. Methinks this is a coldwater snail.
