i have had my RCS in my tank for a few days now and i just added 3 new mandarin shrimp. One of my RCS keeps riding the back of one of my mandarins and it looks like it is eating it sort of, but the mandarin is fully capable of swimming away because if i try to separate with my net, they instantly separate. is there a reason why this is happening? does the shrimp have algae on it, or some disease? or are these just some unique shrimp?

any and all help is apreciated, thanks in advance

Shrimp will catch rides on anything moving. I've seen them chilling out on snails wandering around the tank for minutes before scampering away.

Doubtful he is doing anything other then cleaning the other shrimp.

My shrimp love riding on top of the mystery snail and they'll pick at his shell at times like there is algae. I've seen them on top of each other as well.

Aren't mandarin shrimp neocaridina as well? They may interbreed, which is would probably want to be avoided.
