If someone would like to test this theory out, let me know. I will send you $1 via my PayPal account which will be funded by a credit card. I currently have a zero balance in my PayPal account and my credit card is my backup funding source. It will be a PayPal to PayPal payment by me, no entering of card numbers or anything like that.

I do believe this type of transaction is considered to be a "credit card" payment by PayPal but there is only one way to find out for sure. Hopefully, I am incorrect becuase I have passed on a lot of plants I wanted because the seller only accepted "non-cc" PayPal payments.

Hey MatPat, just be sure whoever takes you up on your offer has a regular "personal" paypal account and not a "premium" or "business" one (like me). With either of the latter two accounts the seller wouldn't see a difference anyway, and you'd be out a dollar...

...but if you do want to send me a dollar...

Sorry to bring this back up but I wanted to see were debit cards fall into this.

If I have a regular pay pal and it is a debit card were does that leave me with the cc, non-cc stuff?

Since there is money in a debit account that would mean that debit's are non-cc?

Thanks to anyone who can help

I'm pretty sure it really depends on what type of account the seller has. If the seller has a Premium/Business Account he/she will occur a charge to receive payment. It doesn't matter what the source of the funds are (paypal, debit, credit).

The reason one would take a preimum/account is that they want to be able to accept any form of payment without limit. If one has a personal account you are limited to only 5 transaction funded via credit/debit card per 12 months. And the fee is higher (4.9% + 30cents vs 1.9% + 30cents)

So when a seller has a personal account and they are charging more they are recouping their 4.9% plus 30cents charge or if a premium account (1.9% plus 30cents). If the seller who has a personal account doesn't accept cc payments at any cost then they probably used by there alot of 5 transaction for that 12 month period.
