Well............
Apparently it isn't perfect yet. All that I can tell you is that they're working on it. I'm a hobbyist admin and as such I don't really have much to do with the hardware end of things. They guys who do that stuff are aware of the add server issues and they're still cleaning it up. Unfortunately I don't always have any more information than the rest of the community. I'll pass along updates as I get them.
They're calling the new hardware "APC's permanent home", so when the updates are finally done we should hopefully be in good shape for the forseeable future.

Today the site seems to work great for me. Fast loading, fast posting, just like it was in the "good old days". But occasionally it still seems to just halt loading, like it is being overloaded in some way. All in all, I think the problems are being worked out very well.
"APC's permanent home" will be enjoyed by all I am sure. Of course like everything involving computers it will be totally obsolete by this time next year. That is how the computer industry makes its money I guess. Drives my wife crazy!

I really wish the best for APC.
For me it is a home away from home, and most times the only place that I can discuss planted aquarium stuff.
Besides, I have PM's from friends going all the way back to 03/18/2006 that I can't delete yet.
APC will be back soon - better than ever.
I can just feel it.
And then hopefully I can post a new journal of Jimbo's first ever 75 Gallon Aquarium.
I just need to get a new memory card for my camera and wait for the new tank!

Its going pretty fast for me at the moment. But i see the ad banners are gone.
I also find its weird with what browser im using I.E. lags for about a second or two then bam their is the page. Firefox is instant every click now and pictures are loading instant to where as before they would stop or go real slow on APC but not other sites. Their is no ad banner in either browser though. Not that im complaining lol i hate ads (well except my ads LOL  ) |

Yea the ad server was getting overloaded so I disabled them for the night, so I can sort this out in the morning.
