I use water right out of the tap. My water seems fine.

about half RO in a couple small tanks, mostly tap water. I got in trouble with a larger tank and RO, I found the pH below 4.5, the limit of my test kit.

My tap water is about 55 GH, 12 KH. About 1000 tds.

This is an old poll and I just voted that I use RO but I have to modify that vote.
I use 1 part tap water and 3 parts RO water. This gives me the 70 ppm hardness that I need for my Amazon biotype.

For most plants RO water doesn't have enough nutrients by itself. Something to keep in mind. Fish like it though. If you have a good oversized biofilter RO is overkill for most tap water. Especially 100ppm referenced, that is actually very low and quite filterable by rudimentary means unless it is aqueous salt.
