Default Jedi mind tricks or is this stuff THAT good?

Okay, I finally got my order of ADA stuff on monday (disadvantages of living in Paradise I guess) and I stayed up into the wee hours of tuesday morning working on my tank. I transplanted the last of my dying HC from my old 15 gal (see my old post) into this new one and 3DAYS LATER, each stem has nearly doubled in size! Can that be? to make this story even more unbelievable, I am using a light fixture that only covers 2/3 of the tank a small duetto filter and injecting CO2 very inefficiently with a clogged glass diffuser. (I couldn't wait for the rest of my equipment to arrive.) So there are only two explanations I can think of at this point. (1) ADA substrates KICK ASS and (2) I am delusional and am seeing things irrationally due to my unhealthy obsession with ADA and Mr. Amano...

I hope it's the first one.

I am taking some pics today for reference just to make sure.

I have no reason to think you are delusional as your past history doesn't show evidence of that :P Glad to hear your HC has revived.

My HC doesn't grow quite that fast, but it's absolutely gorgeous bright green in the aquasoil. All of my plants in it are in fact gorgeous. I can't wait until mine comes to redo the 75 gallon.

My CO2 tank ran out about a day after I setup my ADA tank...however, my HC seems unphased!!..I don't think it is a coincidence....ADA and HC love eachother!!!

Geez, I'm wondering if I should redo my tanks, or just wait till the summertime? Its to damn time consuming, but I'll just have to wait and see, but I'm glad its all working for you guys. Wheres the pics, of the ADA substrate? You know sharing is caring, especially on this forum! Thanks.

Do it Erik! It don't take that long

The thing that scares me is that I'm gonna have a huge A____ out break in a couple of weeks. A substrate this potent has got to be favorable to the stringy, furry, slimy stuff too

Not to denigrate ADA, but what were you using for a substrate prior to the ADA? I went from generic sand to Flourite and saw visible results within days, I may end up switching one of my tanks from Flourite to ADAs line just to see if there is any noticeable difference if I can find a good comparison.

Yes, I normally use Flourite in all of my other tanks. There is a noticeable difference and Flourite grows plants well to begin with.

A word of caution. If you have soft water and switch to ADA Aquasoil setup the tank without fish for a couple days and check the pH. Sometimes it will get quite low quickly, but after a huge water change it will be stable.

my previous experience with HC is in a very establish Flourite tank that can grow the dickens out of any plant...ADA topped it.

To see ADA substrate pics, check my ADA journal in the aquascaping forum.
