Due in part to the help from this forum, my tank is finally starting to look good
Here are some pictures from today! I'm still modifying the scape because I'm not 100% happy with the way it looks, but I've only had this tank up and running since July 31st.
I can't wait to pull out the ugly UV filter on the right-hand side. Once I am certain the algae bloom is not coming back I'll pull it.
Substrate: Pool Filter Sand
Plant Care: Flourish Comprehensive, Osmocote root tabs, Co2 counter (DIY recipe)
Current Livestock: Cherry Barbs, Bushynose Pleco, White Cloud Mountain Minnows, Black Phantom Tetras, Emperor Tetras, Amano Shrimp, Maylasian Trumpet Snails, Nerite Snails.
Plants: Rotala rotundifolia (ceylon), Anubias barteri (nana), Pogostemon erectus, Cryptocoryne wendtii, Cryptocoryne wilisii, Taxiphyllum Alternans
