iTrader Positive Rating: 100% | LFS tour 2016 March 19, 2016 was the kick off LFS tour of Northern New Jersey.
Due to the sequence of openning hours, we flipped around the itinerary to start at the shops that open at 11.
Pacific Aquarium in Manhattan was the first stop for half our members while the rest of us met at Absolutely Fish on Route 46 in Clifton, NJ.
Their Fauna and flora were well stocked and in good form as usual and most of us picked up things.
The third shop of the day was Fish Hut in Saddle Brook. The owners took good care of us and several members picked cobalt heaters and food from their promotional baskets with products with 50 and 75% off.
The fourth shop of the day was Kazmir's Pet Shop in Hackensack which is always a gem with cultured food, livebearers and rare finds. A wonderful school of Boraras maculatus came home with me that day.
Our fifth and last stop for the day was Fishtown USA in Ramsey. We arrived a day early before their next plant shipment but were able to find dozens of interesting things to bring home. They are the most prominent planted shop in the area at the moment and have consistently brought in quality plants from abroad. If you are looking for hobbyist only species, chances are, they may have some available for sale.
Each stop averaged about 50 minutes but we managed to head back to NY before dusk which is sooner than usual.
Our next adventure may take us either North or East so stay tuned.
Regards,
AC |
