Default DIY Bowl Lid/Emersed Plant Frame

When I first brought home our 2 cats we had a mysterious disappearance of one of my Endlers. I assumed one of them went hunting and scrambled unsuccessfully to find a cover for my 8 gallon bowl. I ended up buying a clear plastic vintage purse handle with the correct dimensions on eBay to use as the frame. Then I cut some clear plastic shower curtain to size and punched it with air holes. I secured the clear plastic to the frame with fishing wire. I thought this would be a temporary fix but over the past 2 years it's worked out really well. Now it holds emersed plants in place and supports a small air pump so it stays above the water line. Thought I'd share my DIY solution to feline predation lol

Now I'm attempting to make some Emersed plant "boats" for spider plants (they keep falling down into my 3 gallon bowl) out of discounted flip flops and an exacto knife lol
