I once had an incandescent "UV" bulb over the aquarium for simulated moonlight. It was pretty cool. They give off very little light, since it's a small bulb in a very dark blue filter. I eventually filled up the whole hood with fluorescents, so it had to go.

I think James Hostifizer has blues. I order the "dark blue ones from AHSupply.com.

No first hand experience yet though...
